The Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers play game three of the NLCS Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium on FS1.
The Chicago Cubs look to regain home field advantage after a frustrating game two loss in which Clayton Kershaw shut down the lineup. The Cubs should still feel confident considering they’ve scored five or more runs in four of their last five games and have five players with at least four playoff hits. Javier Baez and Kris Bryant have combined for 17 hits and seven RBI while Willson Contreras has five hits in nine at bats. The Chicago Cubs have lost back-to-back games just twice in the month of August. However, seven of the Cubs last 12 losses have come on the road. Jake Arrieta gets the nod, and he was 18-8 with a 3.10 ERA and 190 strikeouts this season. Arrieta is 2-1 with a 3.51 ERA and 33 strikeouts in his postseason career.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a chance to take control of this series by protecting home field. Despite scoring just one run in game two, the Dodgers offense has scored four or more runs in four of their seven playoff games overall. In two playoff home games, the Cubs have put together nine runs and 13 hits. Overall, Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner have combined for 14 hits and 10 RBI while Corey Seager has two home runs. As long as the Dodgers bats produce like they have been, LA has to feel like it has a chance to win this series and advance to the World Series. The Los Angeles Dodgers have lost just three home games since the month of September. Rich Hill takes the hill, and he was 12-5 with a 2.12 ERA and 129 strikeouts this season. Hill is 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA and 16 strikeouts in his postseason career.
The Cubs are 20-7 in their last 27 games following an off day and 39-14 in Arrietas last 53 starts. The Dodgers are 2-6 in their last 8 games following an off day and 1-4 in Hills last 5 starts. The under is 32-15-5 in the last 52 meetings in Los Angeles and 13-3 in the last 16 meetings overall.
The Dodgers get no respect from betters who move the lines with all that Cubs money. I'll take it. The Cubs have lost four of their last six games in which Arrieta has pitched and he has an ERA of 3.59 on the road. Hill finally pitches a home game for the first time in nearly a month, and he's allowed just one run in 17 innings of work at Dodger Stadium since being traded over from Oakland. The Dodgers aren't chopped liver, and they have an ace on the hill to go along with an offense that hits well in their big park.
I like the Dodgers to take control of this series.
