Uriah Hall and Oluwale Bamgbose fight Saturday night in Tennessee at UFC Fight Night.
Uriah Hall enters this fight with a 11-5 record and has won 73 percent of his fights by knockout. Hall has split his last six fights and is coming off a May loss to Rafael Natal. Hall is averaging 3.16 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 52.5 percent. Hall is averaging 1.31 takedowns with an accuracy percentage of 40 percent. Although he hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, Hall is one of the more exciting fighters due to his speed, athleticism and kicking ability. Hall is very dangerous when he’s on the attack and can end a fight in no time in a variety of ways. Hall can compete with anybody when he’s 100 percent dialed in and focused. While Prime Time still has weakness in his grappling game, he’s still defending 76 percent of his takedowns due to his quickness. This will be Hall’s first career fight in Tennessee.
USA TODAY Sports
Oluwale Bamgbose enters this fight with a 5-0 record and has won all of his fights by knockout. This will be Bamgbose’s UFC debut, and he’s coming off a June victory over Brian Booth. Bamgbose is an athletic fighter who brings a ton of energy and swagger to the ring. Bamgbose is extremely aggressive, throws rapid punches in hopes of a quick knockout and has proven to be deadly when his combinations connect. Besides lack of overall experience being a downfall for Bamgbose, we have yet to see how well his ground game is, and I also wonder if his ridiculous energy could have a negative impact if a fight goes longer than one round. Still, Bamgbose is an exciting fighter who could surprise due to his quick hands and above-average power.
I really like this fight, as both fighters have similar styles and are above-average athletes. Bamgbose can really throw vicious punches while Hall can do a little bit of everything but brings excitement with his kicks. This bout could get mighty interesting.
Overall, however, I have to go with the experience in Hall. Bamgbose hasn’t beaten anybody worth mentioning yet, and I doubt he’ll have much in the tank if this fight goes longer than one round. Yes, Bamgbose gets that pumped up.
