USA TODAY Sports
Rafael Cavalcante enters this fight with a 12-6 record and is winning 100 percent of his fights by knockout. Cavalcante has lost three of his last four fights and is coming off a August loss to Patrick Cummins. Cavalcante is averaging 3.07 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 53.7 percent. Cavalcante is averaging 0.71 takedowns with an accuracy percentage of 44.4 percent. Cavalcante wants to fight standing up where he can use his powerful strikes and knees to his advantage. Cavalcante is tough to beat once he gets in a rhythm with his offensive attack. The concern is that Cavalcante lives and dies by the knockout, as four of his six losses have come with him being put to sleep. This will be Cavalcante’s second fight in Las Vegas.
Cavalcante has not fared well against guys who can strike as well or better than him, and he has a very limited grappling game. Saint Preux is capable of trading punches with Cavalcante, but he’s also able to get the fight on the canvas where he has the huge advantage.
This fight shouldn’t really last that long. Saint Preux is the better fighter and will win rather easily.
