Swanson hopes to return to the form that had him on a six-fight winning streak. Swanson has solid striking power and lands strong accurate punches. USA TODAY Sports
Hacran Dias enters this fight with a 23-3-1 record and has won 48 percent of his fights by decision. Dias has split his last four fights and is coming off a 2015 win over Levan Makashvili. Dias is averaging 1.83 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 47.4 percent. Dias is averaging 3.2 takedowns with an accuracy percentage of 47 percent. Dias isn’t much of a striker, as he rather get the fight on the canvas and wear his opponent down. Dias is the ultimate grinder, which is why for better or worse, his last five fights have ended by decision. The downside is that Dias sometimes doesn’t do enough to win the fight, especially if he can’t get the bout in his comfort zone. This will be Dias’ second fight in Florida.
Swanson is pretty much a knockout or bust, as he usually only struggles against above-average wrestlers who can end a fight on the canvas. Swanson eats below-average strikers for breakfast. That’s Dias, who has the ability to end a fight on the mat but hasn’t done it since 2011. This is the type of fight that Swanson can use to get back on track.
Look for the American to get the job done here.
