Steve Bosse and Sean O'Connell fight Saturday night during UFC Fight Night 89 at the TD Place Arena.

Steve Bosse enters this fight with a 11-2 record and has won 82 percent of his fights by knockout. Bosse has won five of his last six fights and is coming off a March win over James Te-Huna. Bosse is averaging 3.7 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 38.4 percent. Bosse is averaging zero takedowns with an accuracy percentage of zero percent. Bosse redeemed himself in his second UFC fight after getting a knockout in under a minute. If you’re keeping track, Bosse has fought a total of one minute and 21 seconds in two UFC events. From what we’ve seen, Bosse is a powerful striker who can end a fight anytime but is also very raw in terms of his ground game. This will be Bosse’s 12th fight in Canada, his home country.

Steve Bosse vs. Sean O'Connell UFC Fight Night 89 Pick, Preview, Odds, Prediction - 6/18/16

USA TODAY Sports

Sean O'Connell enters this fight with a 17-7 record and has won 47 percent of his fights by knockout. O'Connell has split his last six fights and is coming off a January loss to Ilir Latifi. O'Connell is averaging 6.38 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 48.5 percent. O'Connell is averaging zero takedowns with an accuracy percentage of zero percent. O'Connell is kind of in must-win mode, as he’s 2-3 in UFC fights and has been knocked out twice. For better or worse, O'Connell’s fights usually end with somebody getting knocked out as it’s the way 13 of his 24 fights have ended. O'Connell is a volume striker who can be a little wild at times but is certainly going to get his money's worth with his offensive attack. This will be O'Connell’s third fight in Canada.

Neither of these guys have shown a consistent ground game, as they both want a fight standing up where they can throw haymakers. If that’s the case, you have to go with Bosse, who probably has the power advantage and unlike O'Connell, hasn’t been getting knocked out left and right. Not to mention Bosse does have the home crowd advantage which should also help.

Give me Bosse in what should be a fun fight for however long it lasts.
