The Line: Aldo +100 / Edgar -120 -- Over/Under: 4.5 See the Latest Odds
Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar fight Saturday night in a rematch during UFC 200 at the T-Mobile Arena.
Jose Aldo enters this fight with a 25-2 record and has won 60 percent of his fights by knockout. Aldo has won five of his last six fights and is coming off a December loss to Conor McGregor. Aldo is averaging 3.29 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 43.6 percent. Aldo is averaging 0.93 takedowns with an accuracy percentage of 72.2 percent. Aldo has had a lot of time to recover and hopes to redeem himself after a devastating knockout loss to Conor late last year. Aldo is still one of the more balanced fighters in the sport, as he has incredible defense and delivers strong, accurate strikes. Aldo isn’t the most effective fighter on the canvas but does have a strong takedown defense. This will be Aldo’s fourth fight in Las Vegas.

Frankie Edgar enters this fight with a 19-4-1 record and has won 53 percent of his fights by decision. Edgar has won five straight fights and is coming off a December win over Chad Mendes. Edgar is averaging 3.51 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 39.7 percent. Edgar is averaging 2.71 takedowns with an accuracy percentage of 37.8 percent. Edgar has been on a roll since losing to Aldo back in 2013 and has to be a confident fighter at the moment. Edgar is usually effective with his takedowns and grappling attack, as he does a fine job of wearing down his opponent and can finish fights on the canvas. However, Edgar is also a solid striker who lands a lot and has produced knockouts in two of his last four fights. This will be Edgar’s 10th fight in Las Vegas.
This should be a hell of a fight between two accomplished veterans. Edgar has found consistency as of late and Aldo has lost only one fight in the last decade. When it comes down to it, Aldo is simply the better fighter here and proved it the first time these two met. Aldo is more balanced, has a stronger striking game and a better defense.
Close fight, but I have Aldo taking this one again.
