Classic Entertainment and Sports is one of the most well respected promotional companies in the professional boxing world and is now becoming one of the premier Mixed Martial Arts promotions in the New England area.  CES MMA kicks off the 2012 season as it returns to the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island with Extreme Measures.
The February 3 event is highlighted by a pair of heavyweight encounters.  In the main event UFC veteran Josh Hendricks takes on rising local star Josh Diekmann.  The co-main event features former NFL player and MMA upstart Tyler King taking on unbeaten Rhode Island favorite Eric Bedard. 
Hendricks brings a well-rounded game with five TKOs and 11 submissions among his 18 career wins and looks to snap a two fight losing streak as he takes on Diekmann.  The Connecticut native Diekmann rides in on a two fight wins streak and has never been the distance, owning eight TKOs and four submission wins. King hails from Norwood, Massachusetts and will look to rebound from his first career loss after finishing his first three opponents in the opening round.  Bedard brings a perfect 3-0 mark into this bout with all of his wins coming via finish as well.  These two heavyweight battles are sure to be loaded with fireworks. 
Also on the card will be Team Sityodtong’s  Greg Rebello taking on Ring of Combat veteran Mike Stewart in a light heavyweight scrap. Rebello has won 12 of his last 13 and looks to pick up another win and get a call from the big show.  Stewart will look to derail Rebello and get back on the winning track.  Stewart has finished all five of his victories inside the distance.  In addition, rising featherweight prospect Saul Almeida takes on Rhode Island native Jeff Anderson.  Almeida is a Bellator veteran riding a four fight win streak and looking for another shot with one of the major promotions.  Almeida’s opponent Jeff Anderson will have the Rhode Island crowd behind him and comes in off a loss to WEC veteran Mike Campbell in his last bout. Prior to the setback Anderson had won two straight fights.
The remainder of the card will feature a host of local talent looking to fight their way up the ladder in the regional promotions with aspirations of one day hitting the big time MMA events.
