The Los Angeles Lakers travel to the Chase Center to take on the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in a slump as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after getting beaten by the Bucks in a 115-106 loss on Thursday. Dennis Schroder led the team with 25 points and 12 assists, Anthony Davis added 23 points with 16 rebounds while Austin Reaves chipped in with 18 points on seven of 11 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 18 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 31 points in the first quarter to take the lead going into halftime, but all their hard work went down the drain in the third quarter where the Bucks exploded for 38 points to take the game away from them.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in pretty good form as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up just short to the Trail Blazers in a 125-122 road loss on Wednesday. Jordan Poole led the team with 38 points and seven assists, Klay Thompson drained seven 3-pointers to finish with 31 points while Andrew Wiggins and Donte DiVincenzo each scored 18 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and 21 of 49 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they poured in 40 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, but with the scores tied late in the fourth quarter, it was the Trail Blazers who went on a decisive 7-0 run to pull away and steal the game in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 8-19-1 ATS in their last 28 games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Warriors are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 5-0 in the last five meetings overall and the over is 31-15 in the last 46 meetings in Golden State.

The Lakers could be shorthanded again as LeBron James is currently listed as questionable, while the Warriors are still missing Stephen Curry who won’t be back until after the All-Star break. The Lakers were able to really take the fight to the Bucks on Thursday without James on the court, but they eventually faded away and I’m expecting a similar result if Davis has another quiet game for the Lakers. The Warriors have been playing well despite the absence of Curry, but they will be kicking themselves after dropping a winnable game against the Trail Blazers and you just know they’re going to be fired up for this matchup. The Lakers need a massive game from Davis if they are going to have a chance, but I don’t see that happening in this one, so I’ll stick with the Warriors to get the win here.
