LeBron James and the Miami Heat look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight.

The Heat kicked off their season with a comfortable 107-95 win over the Bulls on opening night, but had their celebrations cut short the following night when they were ambushed by 76ers, losing by 114-110. Understandably, the Heat thought they could win without Dwyane Wade but they were always playing catchup after falling behind by 19 points to start the game. On the back of 25 points and 13 assists from LeBron James and 22 points from Chris Bosh, the Heat were able to come all the way back and take the lead in the second half, but they just had no answer for the Sixers and in particular, Michael Carter-Williams who racked up 22 points, 12 assists and nine steals in his debut.

Meanwhile, the revamped Nets were unable to kick off their season with a win, falling to the Cavaliers by 98-94 on Wednesday night. Brook Lopez led the team with 21 points, while Paul Pierce had 17 points, but the big story for the Nets was that Deron Williams played on a minutes restriction as he deals with his sprained ankle. It was disappointing to see D-Will on the bench in the fourth quarter, but he did manage to add seven points and nine assists in the 22 minutes that he did play so that's definitely a positive sign for Brooklyn fans.

Head to head, the Nets lost all three meetings last season by an average of 21 points and have dropped 13 straight against the Heat. In ATS trends, the Heat are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings and 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Brooklyn.

The Heat thought they could take it a night off against the Sixers and still win, but the thing about this league is that any team can beat you if the focus isn't there and that's exactly what happened on Wednesday. I fully expect the boys from South Beach to bounce back and win against a Nets outfit who will be going through some growing pains at this early stage of the season. Take Miami here.
