The Toronto Raptors look to rebound after a disappointing loss to the Hawks on Friday as Toronto heads to Milwaukee to face the Bucks.
The Milwaukee Bucks are sitting t 1-1 this season after defeating the Celtics in Boston on Friday, 105-98. The Bucks also looked decent in their opener, falling to the Knicks 90-83 in New York. After two road games to open the season, it has to be safe to say that the Bucks will be looking forward to their home opener. In Milwaukee’s last outing, bench play was the story with four different players off the bench reaching double digit points on the night. Leading the scoring for the Bucks was Pachulia, who finished the night with 20 points. The Milwaukee Bucks probably won’t be contending for any titles this season, but two strong showings out of the gate is impressive.

The Toronto Raptors, like the Bucks are starting their season off at 1-1. The Raptors defeated the Celtics to start the season, but last night fell to the Hawks in Atlanta, 102-95. The Raptors put on a strong showing, especially DeRozan, who finished the night with 31 points against Atlanta. One of the main reasons the Raptors fell to the Hawks on Friday was their inability to stop Al Horford. The Raptors, like the Bucks aren’t really going anywhere this season, although at home the Raptors are always a tough out. This game however is in Milwaukee and their second straight game on the road, after traveling to Atlanta after their home win against Boston.
The Raptors are 0-5 overall in their last five games against the Bucks, and just 2-11 against the spread in their last 13 games against Milwaukee. The Raptors are also just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games against the Bucks. Milwaukee is just 1-5 overall in their last six games, and the Bucks are just 1-4 overall in their last five home games. The total has gone over in four of the last six games between the Bucks and the Raptors.
Tough call here, but I’m leaning to the over. I also like Milwaukee to get the win, but the strongest play here for me is on the total. Vegas is implying a 96-95 type of game with this spread and total, and I think we will see more than that here. Neither team plays great defensively, and with the Bucks in their opener, and the Raptors on their way home, look for the pace to be quickened which should lead to higher totals.
