The Houston Rockets and the Utah Jazz collide at the Vivint Arena on Wednesday night

The Houston Rockets have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 12 of their past 15 games overall, but they will be looking to build some momentum after taking down the Kings in a 118-112 road win on Sunday. Christian Wood led the team with 23 points, 14 rebounds and three assists, Kevin Porter Jr. added 23 points with seven assists while Eric Gordon and Jalen Green each scored 15 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they allowed 39 points in the second quarter to fall behind at halftime, before closing the final 2:16 on a 9-4 run to escape with the much-needed win.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in a slump of their own as they’ve lost five of their past six games and they will be hoping to bounce back after coming up short against the Lakers in a 101-95 road loss on Monday. Mike Conley led the team in scoring with 20 points, Rudy Gobert added 19 points with 16 rebounds and three blocks while Royce O’Neale and Donovan Mitchell each scored 13 points. As a team, the Jazz shot just 36 percent from the field and 12 of 46 from the 3-point line as they poured in 32 points in the third quarter to rally back from an 11-point deficit, only to go ice-cold in the fourth quarter where they were outscored by 29-17 to allow the Lakers to escape.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 0-8 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Jazz are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight home games, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings in Utah and the Rockets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Utah.

The Rockets are just about at full strength for this one, while the Jazz will be shorthanded as they will be without Donovan Mitchell. The Rockets have been one of the worst teams in the league for a while now, but they’ve come to life with two wins in their last three outings, so they’re coming into this one with a bit of momentum compared to the Jazz who have gone cold lately. The Jazz should have no problem getting the big win if they’re focused, but I think the Rockets can hang around long enough to get the cover with the line so hefty.
