Like the Boston Celtics, the Utah Jazz are still winless on the season, and the Jazz will be looking to rectify that on Wednesday when Utah heads to the Garden to face the Celtics.
The Boston Celtics are sitting at 0-4 this season after falling to the Grizzlies 95-88 on Monday. Boston is a team rebuilding, and they are showing that this season. With all their troubles offensively, I do have to say that the Celtics are playing well on the other end of the court, holding opponents to just 95 points per game on average, ranking the Celtics as the fifth best team in scoring defense thus far. One big area of concern I have with this team however is in their rebounding ability. The Celtics are just 28th in the league in rebounds per game, and if that doesn’t improve, with this offense, the Celtics are in for a long season.

The Utah Jazz are sitting at 0-4 as well. I believe the Jazz are better than their record shows, but as of right now, it’s not showing on the scoreboard. Utah’s latest defeat came at the hands of the Nets, who defeated the Jazz 104-88 on Tuesday night. Utah is one of the better rebounding teams in the league, but even at that the Jazz are scoring just over 90 points per game, while allowing 99. I still think this team can improve, but if the Jazz don’t start putting some points up, like the Celtics, they will be in for a long year for sure.
The total has gone under in seven of the last ten games for the Jazz, and Utah is just 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games. Utah is playing better on the road as of late however, going 6-2-1 against the spread in their last nine games on the road. Against the Celtics, Utah is 0-5-1 against the spread in their last six.
The Boston Celtics are just 1-4 overall in their last five home games, and Boston is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games at home. Boston also has gone under the total in five of their last six games. The Celtics have done well against the Jazz however, going 5-0 in their last five meetings with Utah.
I’m a bit hesitant here, but I have to side with Utah. Like I said above, this Jazz team is better than they are playing right now. Unfortunately for Boston, they are not. The Celtics look to be one of the bottom feeders of the league this season, and have a lot of work to do. The Jazz are the better team here, and even though the Celtics are better rested, getting points with Utah is just too good to pass up.
