The Los Angeles Lakers return home to face Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night from STAPLES Center.

Head to head, the Timberwolves are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings and 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Los Angeles while the road team is 18-7-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings. The Lakers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games, but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 vs. Western Conference and 5-13-1 ATS in their last 19 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Timberwolves on the other hand are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Western Conference and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

It's been an up and down start to the season for the Los Angeles Lakers so far, who have looked lost at times without Kobe Bryant. Coming off their best win of the season on Thursday night in Houston, the Lakers couldn't back things up the next night in New Orleans as they fell 96-85 to suffer their fourth loss in their last six outings. Although their defense has improved the last couple of games, they are still giving up an average of 105 points on the season, which is the fourth worst mark in the league. On the plus side, Los Angeles has been one of the best rebounding teams in the league, pulling in 45.7 boards per contest.

Thanks to the play of Kevin Love, the Minnesota Timberwolves are off to a fast start this season, winning four of a possible six games. Love has done it all in the early going, averaging 27.2 points, 14.7 rebounds and a surprising 5 assists. In their 116-108 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, Love had 32 points, 15 rebounds and finished two assists shy of a triple-double. The other Kevin, Kevin Martin, has also been one of the reason why the Timberwolves have gotten off to a fast start as he has made 15-23 from beyond the arr while averaging 27 points in the last four games.

207 points might seem like a lot, but it's really not when you look at some of the scores between these two teams this season. It's pretty clear that neither the Lakers or Timberwolves are too concerned about defending and the numbers back that up. Look for another shoot-out tonight....
