The Brooklyn Nets head to Sacramento on Wednesday to face off against the Kings.
The Sacramento Kings have struggled this season, as the Kings are just 1-5 thus far. Sacramento is playing alright defensively, ranking about mid-league, averaging 100.2 points allowed per game. The offense has been the issue for the Kings this season, as the Kings are scoring an average of 92.3 points per game, ranking the Kings 27th in the NBA currently. In their last outing, the Kings fell to the Trail Blazers 96-85 on Saturday in Sacramento.

The Brooklyn Nets are just 2-4 this season, and so far have disappointed their fans hoping for a strong season. The year is of course very young, but still I’m sure fans in Brooklyn were hoping for a better sign at this point. The Nets are a very middle of the road team statistically, as the Nets rank 16th in the league offensively, 18th in the league defensively and 13th in the league in assists per game. The Nets have played alright at home, but on the road is where Brooklyn has really struggled this season, going 0-3 so far away from Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Nets are just 2-4 against the spread this season, and as a favorite, the Nets are just 1-3 against the number. The Nets are also 0-3 against the spread on the road, as well as 0-3 overall on the road this year. When playing against teams with a losing record, the Nets are 1-2 against the spread.
The Sacramento Kings are 0-5 against the spread on the season. Four of those ATS losses have come at home this year, and two of them were when the Kings were listed as an underdog on the day.
For my free pick, I’ll be making a play on the total, but this is my strongest NBA play of the day, and I will have this one posted in the new sportschatplace iphone app, as well as in the premium section.
I’m going with the over in this spot. Both the Nets and the Kings come into this game well rested, and while that normally means stronger defense, I just don’t see either of these teams having the horses to play lockdown defense all game. Both the Nets and the Kings want this win, and I expect the pace to be quickened here, as the Kings and Nets get into a shootout.
