The Boston Celtics look for their third straight win as they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 17-8-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings and 12-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Boston while the road team is 19-6-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings and the underdog is 18-7-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings. The Celtics are 8-18-1 ATS in their last 27 vs. NBA Southwest, 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Grizzlies on the other hand are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 road games, but just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall.

It’s been a strange old start to the season for the Boston Celtics. They opened up the season with four straight losses, then followed that up by winning their next four games to move back to .500, which included that buzzer-beating victory in Miami. The Celtics then proceeded to lose their next six in a row as they continued to struggle on the offensive end. Alas, they come into tonight’s game off the back of consecutive road victories at Atlanta and Charlotte to move to 6-10 on the season. Who really knows what to expect from this ball club tonight? Especially since they have lose their last three home games by a combined 34 points.
Just as it looked like the Memphis Grizzlies were starting to get things together, they suffered a massive blow with the loss of Marc Gasol, who will be out for up too two months after suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain. It was rotten timing for a Grizzlies squad that had just won four straight road games to improve to 7-5 on the young season. With Gasol out, Memphis has dropped back-to-back home games to San Antonio and Houston, two of the top teams in the entire league.
I’m not sure what to take here, the Grizzlies or the under. As I mentioned earlier, the Celtics seem to play better on the road than at home for some reason, which doesn’t bode well considering Memphis has one four straight on the road. Yes those wins were with Gasol, but Kosta Koufos is a better than average backup that would start for a handful of teams in this league. As far as the under goes, the Grizz were held to 86 points in each of their last two games and Boston hasn’t scored over 96 points in each of their last eight games, which is a hard thing to do. Not to mention, their first meeting of the season ended on 183 total points. You choose, but I’m rolling with the Grizzlies in this one...
