The struggling New York Knicks hope to avoid an eighth straight loss when they play the Denver Nuggets tonight.
Boy, the Knicks have been struggling. They've now lost seven straight after falling to the Clippers by 93-80 on Wednesday night despite a big night from Carmelo Anthony who had 28 points and nine rebounds. Andrea Bargnani added 20 points and Raymond Felton added 12, but no one else even scored more than seven points outside of those three players and you got to start questioning the Knicks' attitude. One person you can't point the finger at is Anthony because he's been averaging 29.6 points and 11.9 rebounds during the seven-game slide.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets are looking at a fifth straight win after running past the Timberwolves in a 117-110 points-fest on Wednesday night. Ty Lawson led the team with 23 points, Nate Robinson added 15 off the bench and Kenneth Faried added 13 points as the Nuggets won their seventh game in nine outings after such a slow start to the season. Once again, the key to the Nuggets' win was their production from the bench as their reserves outscored the Wolves' reserves by 47-10. With the win, Denver improves to 8-6 on the season and a modest 3-4 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Knicks are 0-6 ATS in their last six games following a loss and 0-7 ATS in their last seven games overall, while the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.
You know the Knicks are in trouble when a big scoring night from Melo still doesn't get you close to winning but it's been great for people betting against them because when they lose, they lose big. NY are going to turn things around sooner or later but I just get the feeling that it's not going to happen against the Nuggets tonight.
