It's a battle of the boroughs as the New York Knicks pay a visit to the Brooklyn Nets on NBA Thurdsday.

No one could have saw this coming but as it stands, the Knicks head into Brooklyn tonight looking to avoid a 10th straight loss after falling to the Pelicans by 103-99 on Sunday. Carmelo Anthony led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Tim Hardaway Jr added 21 off the bench, but once again, the Knicks were unimpressive on defense as they allowed the Pelicans to shoot 49.4 percent from the field after they lost their top scorer in Anthony Davis who fractured his hand after 10 minutes on the court. New York is now 3-13 on the season and just 1-7 at home.

Meanwhile, the Nets have lost eight of their last 10 and are coming off a 111-87 beatdown at the hands of the Nuggets. The Nets started the game well and finished the first quarter with a 29-27 lead, but were outscored by 62-36 in the second and third quarters combined which really put the game to bed before the fourth quarter. Joe Johnson led the team with 22 points, while Andray Blatche added 15 off the bench, but the notable contributions stop there as the Nets shot just 40 percent from the field. With the loss, Brooklyn fall to 5-13 on the season and 2-5 at home where they've lost their last five straight.

In ATS trends, the Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight games following a loss, while the Nets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 0-5 ATS in their last five home games.

Head to head, the Knicks are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Brooklyn and the Under is 6-2 in the last eight.

This game was supposed to be a blockbuster of a matchup, but both of these teams have really been terrible this season so don't expect fireworks tonight. In terms of picking a winner, I really have no idea who will win this one but I'm just going to trust my gut and take the Knicks with the points here.

New York +1
