NBA Daily Updates 12/8: George and the Pacers Win Again, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
December 8, 2013
After yesterday’s busy nine-game schedule, the NBA will be dialing it back a bit today with just five matchups on the slate. That said, there’s still plenty of good basketball spread throughout the day, so it’ll be a good afternoon for us fans. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players out there making headlines this morning. Here’s the latest.
Anderson Varejao, C, Cleveland Cavaliers: Varejao came away from yesterday’s game against the Clippers with a nice effort on the glass. He put up a game-high 17 rebounds (a season-high for him) in the 88-82 victory, adding six points, an assist and a block in the process. Varejao has double-digit rebounds in four of his last nine outings.
Next up for the 7-13 Cavs is a home game against the Knicks on Tuesday. Cleveland has won three of their last four.

Andre Drummond, C, Detroit Pistons: Drummond dominated the paint yesterday against the Bulls, and very nearly tallied a double-double. He snatched a game-high 14 rebounds in the 92-75 win, adding eight points, an assist and two blocks. Drummond has at least 10 rebounds in nine of his last 10 games.
The Pistons have won four straight and currently sit at 10-10. They’ll have a tough test tonight against the Heat to try and get past .500.
LeBron James, SF, Miami Heat: Speaking of the Heat, their main man James had himself quite a night against Minnesota. He put up 21 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists in the 103-82 win, but also added seven turnovers. LeBron has scored at least 21 in the last nine games.
With the victory, Miami snaps a two-game slide and moves to 15-5 on the year. Their four-game road trip continues in Detroit today, then they’ll finish off in Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Paul George, SF, Indiana Pacers: While we’re on the subject, let’s check out George and the gang. He had another nice outing against the Spurs yesterday, putting up 28 in the 111-100 victory over the Spurs. He also notched four rebounds and six assists in the win. George has scored at least 20 in seven of his last 10 appearances.
Next up for the 18-2 Pacers is another big game out West. They’ll take on the Thunder in OKC. After that it’s back home for the Heat on Tuesday.
NBA Daily Schedule: 10 teams will be in action today, which will kick off a pretty busy week in the NBA. Here’s a look at the full schedule, as well as the start times and TV networks you can catch the games on.
