The Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Chase Center on Friday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be eager to arrest a seven-game slide after getting thrashed by the Thunder in a 133-96 road loss last Wednesday. Jabari Smith Jr led the team in scoring with 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, Jalen Green added 14 points while Jae’Sean Tate chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Rockets shot just 33 percent from the field and 10 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to another slow start and just never had a chance after leaking 76 points in the first half and another 40 points in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in poor form as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Lakers in a 124-111 road loss last night. Klay Thompson led the team with 22 points, Ty Jerome added 20 points off the bench while Jordan Poole chipped in with 16 points on three of 13 shooting. As a team, the Warriors shot 38 percent from the field and 14 of 49 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to claw their way back into the contest after a slow start, but their hard work went to waste in the third quarter where the Lakers exploded for 36 points to pull away and make it a blowout.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on three or more days, 5-16 ATS in their last 21 road games and 7-18 ATS in their last 25 games overall. The Warriors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the Rockets are 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.

The Rockets could be shorthanded again with Kevin Porter Jr and Jalen Green both considered as day to day, while the Warriors are still missing Gary Payton, Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins. The Warriors will be disappointed with their effort against the Lakers last night, so you just know that they’ll come out swinging in this one, but they’re just so banged up at the moment, that I don’t think they should be so heavily favored playing their second game of a back to back set. With that being said, I’ll lean towards the well-rested Rockets to hang around and earn the cover in a messy game.
