Kobe Bryant continues his search for the first win of the season as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Lakers paid a visit to the red-hot Thunder last night and they left with their tails between their legs after getting trounced by 122-97. With Jordan Farmar, Steve Nash and Steve Blake all sidelined with injuries, Kobe Bryant was forced to play the point guard position and was able to score four points and 13 assists but he played just 23 minutes as the game got out of hand early. Nick Young led all scorers with 17 points and Pau Gasol had 14 as the Lakers fall to 10-12 on the season and 0-3 since Kobe's return.

Meanwhile, the Bobcats had the tough task of playing the league-leading Pacers last night and while they lost by 99-94, they were able to stick with the Pacers in their own building. Al Jefferson led the team with 21 points, while Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions added 13 apiece, but the Bobcats were unable to avoid an eighth straight loss to the Pacers last night. With the loss, Charlotte fall to 10-13 on the season and 4-6 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall, while the Bobcats are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight against teams with losing records.
Head to head, the Lakers are 3-13 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall and 2-6 ATS in the last eight in Charlotte.
Even with Kobe back in the lineup, the Lakers are in a world of hurt and are going to have trouble scoring points against the Bobcats' defensive outfit. I'm not exactly confident in picking either team to win this one, but you have to go with the Bobcats who showed guts against the best team in the league last night. Stick with Charlotte to win and cover at home here.
