The Portland Trail Blazers are on a roll this season, and now Portland heads to Detroit on Sunday to face the Pistons.
The Detroit Pistons are sitting at 11-13 this season following a Friday night win over the Nets at home. The Pistons normally are a very strong home team, but this season is a bit of an exception, as the Pistons are just 6-7 overall at home this season. Detroit is one of the better rebounding teams in the league right now, but overall the Pistons are struggling defensively, allowing more than 100 points per game on average this season.

The Portland Trail Blazers are on a tear right now, as the Trail Blazers are 20-4 this season and are just as solid on the road, going 10-2 overall on the road this year. The Trail Blazers currently have the top scoring offense in the league, as the Trail Blazers are averaging better than 107 points per game heading into their meeting here with the Pistons. Portland has won four out of their last five heading into Sunday’s meeting, winning their last three in that stretch.
Portland is 8-0 against the spread coming off games where they have allowed triple digits, and Portland is also 8-0 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a losing record. Portland is 5-1 against the spread following an outright win, and the Trail Blazers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games on zero days rest.
The Pistons are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following a game where they scored triple digits. But, the Pistons are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games when they have hosted a team with a winning record. The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Detroit.
I think we are getting some value here with Portland. The line looks to be knocked down a bit from where it probably should be, due to the fact that Portland is playing off no rest, and this is the second game in a long road stretch for them.
Portland has shown us all season that they can play well on the road, and on no rest, and I expect things to be no different here as I like the Trail Blazers here in Detroit on Sunday.
