Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder square off against the visiting Orlando Magic on Sunday night.
Head to head, the home team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games, 15-6 ATS in their last 21 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Magic on the other hand are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference.
It it just me or are the Oklahoma City Thunder really flying under the radar? Granted, the Portland Trail Blazers and Indiana Pacers have stolen the spotlight after their surprising starts to the season, but no one really seems to be talking about this Thunder squad that has won 18 of their first 22 games. OKC also comes into tonight's game in red-hot form as they have rattled off five consecutive wins, straight up and against the spread and their average winning in those game was 17.6 points. With Westbrook now at full strength and the young players stepping up, the Thunder are clicking on all cylinders offensively as they have averaged 110.3 points over their last nine contests.
It's been a rough old time for the Orlando Magic of late as they have lost seven of their last eight to drop to 7-16 on the season. It hasn't helped that they have been on the road a lot lately as they recently completed a six-game road trip in which they only one the single game in Charlotte to conclude their swing. Most of their problems stem on the offensive end as they have had a really hard time scoring the ball, failing to reach 93 points in six of their last eight games.
The Magic do have talent spread through their roster, but the Thunder are just flat out rolling at the moment and lets not forget this same team took down the Indiana Pacers by 24 points this time last week. Orlando did suffer some blowout losses on their recent road trip, going down in Washington by 18 and then in New York three nights later by a whopping 38 points. Don't love this game, but I'm rolling with the in-form Thunder here...
