The Line: Atlanta Hawks -7 -- Over/Under: 205.5 See the Latest Odds
The Atlanta Hawks look to continue their dominance over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night.
Head to head, the Kings are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings and 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Atlanta while the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the favorite is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings. The Hawks are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest, but just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win of more than 10 points. The Kings on the other hand are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.
We have all been waiting for more teams in the East to step up and improve the conference as a whole and it looks like the Atlanta Hawks are on the verge of doing so. Following their 114-100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, a game in which they outscored the visitors by 21 points in the second half, the Hawks have now won four of six and are only one of three teams in the Eastern Conference with a .500 record or better. Atlanta has been rock solid at home all season, winning nine of their 13 games and covering in eight of those.
Now onto the Sacramento Kings, flat out one of the worst teams to bet on or against in the entire league. Let's just run through their last six games: Win at Utah by double-digits and then return home to beat the Dallas Mavericks by 15. They then lost to the same Jazz team at home by a lazy 21 points and then at Phoenix by nine. In true Kings style, they backed up that loss with a 15-point home win over the visiting Houston Rockets, but then followed that up with a 95-87 defeat in Charlotte last night. So there you have it, your 2013-14 Sacramento Kings.
All the signs here point towards a Hawks cover. Atlanta has won 10 straight over the Kings and covered in eight of those meetings. The Hawks are 9-4 at home on the season and three of their last four wins at Philips have resulted in double-digit victories. Sacramento on the other hand are 2-6 on the road this season and you really never know what you are going to get with this team. The Kings will probably win this one straight up, watch...
