The Toronto Raptors collide with the visiting Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night from Air Canada Center.
Head to head, the Bobcats are 14-4 ATS in the last 18 meetings and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Toronto while the home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and the underdog is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings. The Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, but just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 3 or more days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Bobcats on the other hand are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 road games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall, but just 17-35 ATS in their last 52 games playing on 0 days rest.
The Charlotte Bobcats might have lost four of their last five on the road, but interestingly enough they are a perfect 8-0 against the spread in their last eight games away from home. After dropping their first two road games at Houston and New Orleans, the Bobcats have covered in every game since and those four losses I just talked about were at Chicago, Miami, Dallas and Indiana by a combined 18 points, despite being 44 point underdogs collectively. On Friday night against the Pacers, Charlotte actually led 90-89 with just over five minutes remaining but they couldn't hold off home team as they rallied for a 99-94 victory.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have won three of four since trading away Rudy Gay and are coming off a 99-77 win at Chicago on Saturday night. Having said that, their win over the Bulls can't really be considered a good one and their previous victory came over the reeling Philadelphia 76ers. The Raptors have struggled at home for most of the season as they have dropped seven of 11 there and eight of those against the spread.
Charlotte is coming off a game last night, but I don't think it will effect them here. The Bobcats are the best team in the entire league at covering the spread on the road, just think about that for a second. Had some shots gone the other way, they could and should of very well won in Miami and Indiana recently. The Raptors are playing solid basketball at the moment, led by DeMar DeRozan and Amir Johnson and they could very well win, but I think it will be a close one...
