The Brooklyn Nets head to Philly on Friday to face off against the Nets.
The Philadelphia 76ers are currently sitting at 7-19 on the season. The Sixers have a solid offense, scoring 101.6 points per game, but the defense has been horrible for Philly this season, as the Sixers are currently ranked 30th in the league in scoring defense, allowing 111.2 points per game. The Sixers have really been struggling as of late, dropping seven straight heading into Friday’s matchup.

The Brooklyn Nets are just 9-16 this season, and currently the Nets are two games back of the Celtics. That’s how bad the Atlantic division is right now. The Nets are struggling on both ends of the court this season, scoring an average of just 97.2 points per game, while allowing 101.8 this season. Brooklyn has played better, at least somewhat as of late, going 3-2 overall in their last five outings.
The Brooklyn Nets are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall, and the Nets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. Brooklyn is also 4-1 against the spread when facing the Eastern Conference.
The Sixers are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games on Fridays, and the Sixers are just 1-8 against the spread in their last nine games following an ATS loss. The Sixers are also 0-5 against the spread in their last five home games. The under has been the play in this series, as the under is 12-5 in the last 17 meetings in Philly between these two teams.
I’m going to go against the total trend here a bit, and take the over in this one. Neither the Nets, nor the Sixers play much in the way of defense, and while neither offense is exactly lights out this season, I still think we will see a higher scoring game here.
The Sixers really need to get back into the win column, and the Nets, as poor as their record is right now are very much within striking distance of the division lead. Look for both teams to keep the tempo up here, which should produce some more points for us.
