The Dallas Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns duke it out at the Footprint Center on Thursday night.

The Dallas Mavericks have been in rough shape as they’ve lost five of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling painfully short to the Wizards in a 127-126 home loss on Tuesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 41 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, Dwight Powell added 22 points while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 20 points and eight assists. As a team, the Mavericks shot 52 percent from the field and 10 of 30 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Wizards in a really close contest, only to come up just short in the end as the Wizards’ Kyle Kuzma drained the game-winning free throw with just 5.0 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in pretty good form lately as they’ve won five of their last eight games and they will be eager to build on their four-game win streak after routing the Hornets in a 128-97 home win on Tuesday. Cameron Johnson led the team with 24 points on nine of 11 shooting in just 18 minutes of action, Dario Saric added 19 points off the bench, Chris Paul tallied 14 points with 11 assists while Mikal Bridges chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Suns shot 50 percent from the field and 22 of 40 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, outscoring the Hornets by 36-15 in the first quarter, before they exploded for 40 points in the third quarter to make it a complete blowout.

Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 8-22 ATS in their last 30 road games and 17-35-2 ATS in their last 54 games overall. The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall and the Mavericks are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Mavericks are still missing Maxi Kleber and Christian Wood, while the Suns are still without Devin Booker, Landry Shamet and Cameron Payne, but the good news is that DeAndre Ayton has been upgraded to probable. The Mavericks were able to dominate the Suns the last time these two teams met, so don’t be shocked if the Mavericks just snapped out of their funk and smashed the Suns in this spot. However, looking at recent form, the Suns are clearly the team in better shape and they made it look easy in their big win over the Hornets on Tuesday. You can make an argument for either side here, but the Mavericks are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall and Doncic just loves playing the Suns.
