The Line: Phoenix Suns -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Los Angeles Lakers could again be without Pau Gasol when they take on the surprising Phoenix Suns tonight.
It's been no secret that the Lakers have been battling with injuries all season but things went from bad to worse on Saturday when Pau Gasol had to sit out due to some respiratory issues. In the 102-83 loss against the Warriors, Nick Young led the team with 20 points off the bench while Chris Kaman added 10 points and 17 rebounds in a rare appearance, but the depleted Lakers just couldn't hang with the Warriors for more than half a game. LA has now lost five of their last eight to fall to 13-14 on the season and 6-8 on the road.

On the same night, the Suns won their seventh game in eight outings thanks to 25 points and six assists from Eric Bledsoe and 22 points from Gerald Green. In fact, it was a real team effort as the Suns made 15 fo 30 from the three point line which ignited their scoring early and fueled them till the final buzzer. The Suns have actually made 45.4 percent of their three pointers in their last five games while averaging 108.3 points in their last eight to improve to 16-10 overall this season.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a loss and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points, while the Suns are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall.
Head to head, the Lakers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall and 0-4-1 ATS in the last five in Phoenix.
With Gasol's status for this game uncertain, the bookies have yet to release a line for this game but I can say with confidence that I will be taking the Suns in this game as long as the line isn't too heavy.
The line has officially been posted and it is the Suns who are favored by eight points which seems fair enough, so given that I'm predicting them to win by double digits, I have no problem taking them to cover the spread here.
