The Line: Orlando Magic -2.5 -- Over/Under: 202 See the Latest Odds
The Atlanta Hawks head to Orlando on Sunday to face off against the Magic.
The Orlando Magic started off the season on fire, but since the Magic have cooled off, and now resides at 9-20 on the year. The Magic are bringing up the rear in the Southeast division, currently trailing the Miami Heat by 13.5 games. The Orlando offense isn’t much to get too excited about, but Afflalo has had a nice season for the Magic, averaging a solid 22 points per game this season. Orlando did get a win in their last outing; defeating the Pistons at home on Friday, so hopefully for them, the Magic can win back to back games for the first time since late November.

The Atlanta Hawks are playing some solid ball this season. The Hawks should be in the post season this year, but I just don’t see the Hawks running with the big boys for the title. Right now, the Hawks are sitting at 17-13 on the season. Atlanta has a top ten offense this season, putting up an average of 103.7 points per game. The defense has struggled for Atlanta however, as the Hawks are giving up more than triple digits per game on average. Atlanta does have some momentum coming into today’s game having won back to back games, with their latest win coming on the road at Charlotte last night 118-116 in overtime.
The Hawks are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Eastern Conference, and the Hawks are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games against the Southeast division. The Hawks are also 0-4 against the spread in their last four games off of no rest.
The Magic are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against teams with a winning record. The Magic are also 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games on Sunday nights.
I get that the Magic are at home, I get that the Hawks are playing back to back games and I get that Atlanta may be without Martin and Jenkins. I don't get the line as the wrong team is favored here.
Atlanta is clearly the better team, and all the situations I mentioned above play into our favor as Hawks backers here as the line has moved drastically in our favor. Without Jenkins and Martin the Hawks are a combined 5-1 and going against the Magic, I think taht easily goes to 6-1 if they should miss.
Don't get cute here. The Hawks are the play all the way.Follow me on twitter for more free picks.
