The Toronto Raptors will be heading to the Verizon Center on Friday night to face off against the Wizards.
The Washington Wizards are currently sitting at 14-15 this season, and trail the Heat by 8.5 games in the Southwest division. The Wizards play well on both ends of the court, but especially on defense, where Washington is holding opponents to an average of 99.6 points scored per game. The Wizards are a solid 2-1 in their last three outings, falling to the Mavs last time out on Wednesday, 87-78. The Wizards have one of the more dynamic point guards in the game in John Wall, who is leading the team in assists, steals and in points per game.

The Toronto Raptors are right at the breakeven point, owning a record of 15-15 currently. The Raptors are also leading the Atlantic division at the present time, owning a three game lead over the Boston Celtics. The Raptors have one of the better defenses in the league currently, holding opponents to an average of 97.6 points per game this year. Toronto is playing red hot right now, winners of four in a row heading into this meeting with the Wizards. The latest win for Toronto came on Wednesday, when the Raptors beat the Pacers in Toronto 95-82.
The Toronto Raptors are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, and Toronto is 4-0 in their last four games against the East. The Raptors are also playing well on the road this season, going 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games.
The Wizards are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games following an ATS loss, and the Wizards are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games against the East. Washington is also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following just one day of rest.
Neither the Raptors, nor the Wizards are known for lighting up the scoreboard really this season, but even so, I’ll take the over in this one. I feel the odds makers were a bit conservative with this number giving us some value here on the over.
