The Philadelphia 76ers return home looking for their fifth straight victory as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.

Head to head, the Timberwolves are 5-2-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Philadelphia while the underdog is 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings. The 76ers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days. The Timberwolves on the other hand are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, 22-7-1 ATS in their last 30 games following a S.U. loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games.

Doesn't it feel weird that the Phialdelphia 76ers are playing at home off four straight victories, yet they are 6.5 point underdogs against a Minnesota Timerwolves squad that is jut 6-11 on the road this season? Now the 76ers are coming off a six-game road trip, a spot that never really works out well for the home team. I'm not really sure who wins or covers in this one, so I will look at a total instead.

I don't think it's news to anyone that Philly is the worst defensive team in all of basketball and it's not even close as they are surrendering a whopping 110 points per game on the season. It's also no surprise that over's have gone 10-5 in their home games this season. Get this, their last nine home games have averaged a total of 222 points and that's including that 177 point stinker against the Los Angeles Clippers at the start of December. As far as the Timberwolves are concerned, they second in the NBA in scoring at 106.8 per game while also allowing 102.9 points, which is the fourth worst mark in the league. Five of their last six totals have gone over 210 points and four of those have surpassed 218.

I'm not going to lie, 218.5 is a heck of a lot of points, but these two teams are clearly capable of going over that total given previous results this season. Now they did meet earlier this season in Minnesota and the game finished on just 205 total points, but Michael Carter-Williams was missing and 76ers are not the same team when he does not play.

I'm a bit weary of Philly playing in their first game back from a long road trip, but they are really hot on the offensive end as both the Wolves and 76ers have scored over 110 points in 8-2 of their last 10 combined. I'll take the over here...

Dan’s Pick: Over 218.5
