The Lakers head to Dallas on Tuesday night to face off against the Mavericks.
The Dallas Mavericks are currently sitting at 19-15 this season, and trail the Spurs by seven games, and the Rockets by four games in the Southwest division. The Mavs have been far from dominant this season, but still Dallas does play well on their home court, going 11-6 at home this season. Dallas is led offensively by Dirk Nowitzki, who is scoring a solid 20.9 points per game this season. Dallas has struggled a bit lately, dropping two in a row heading into this meeting with the Lakers on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers head to Dallas on Tuesday having won just one out of their last five games. The Lakers are clearly in a rebuilding season, which is even more evident by the likely trade of Gasol. The Lakers are currently in the middle of the pack offensively this season, with Nick Young leading the way with 16.6 points per game, but the defense is horrible, allowing 104.2 points per game on the year.
The Lakers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following a double digit loss. The Lakers are also 3-1-1 against the Southwest division this season against the spread. Los Angeles however, is 0-4 against the spread in their last four road games against teams with a winning record.
The Dallas Mavericks are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Pacific division, and the Mavs are 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games. Dallas is also just 1-7 against the spread in their last eight home games against teams with a losing record.
It’s hard to do, but I have to take Los Angeles here. The Mavs are clearly the better team, and the Lakers are banged up, but I just can’t see giving up double digit points here. Personally I won’t be on this one, but if you are looking for a side, taking the road dog with the Lakers looks like the side I’d be on.
