The Detroit Pistons play the Toronto Raptors for the first time this season when they meet at the Air Canada Center tonight.
The Pistons have shown patches of form this season but have really been struggling lately, losing seven of their last eight and five on the trot after losing to the Knicks by 89-85 last night. Josh Smith stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, 12 rebounds and five assists while Greg Monroee added 19 points, but the Pistons fell away in the third quarter when they let the Knicks score 15 points unanswered. Detroit did make a strong challenge in the end but it was too little, too late as Detroit fell to 14-21 on the season and 8-9 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Raptors were on a five-game win streak before consecutive losing to the Heat on Sunday and then to the Pacers last night. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 28 points while Patrick Patterson added 20 off the bench, but the rest of the Raptors really struggled to score against the league's best defense as evidenced by their 37 percent shooting percentage. With the loss, Toronto dropped back below .500 to 16-17 on the season and 10-9 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Pistons are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a loss and 0-5 ATS in their last five against a team with a losing record, while the Raptors are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the Pistons are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Over is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings in Toronto.
You never know what you're going to get from the Pistons so it's always tricky to pick games that they play in, but they've been in poor form lately so it's hard to take them against the Raptors, even with the points. With that being said, I think the only options are to take the Raptors at home, or leave this game altogether.
