The Brooklyn Nets look to stay hot tonight when they take on the Toronto Raptors.
The Nets have suddenly won five straight and will be sky high on confidence after taking down the defending champions in double overtime last night. Joe Johnson started the game on fire and scored 22 points in the first quarter before finishing with 32, while Paul Pierce added 23 points, but it was the play of Shaun Livingston that really dragged the Nets over the line, with his season-best performance of 19 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three key blocks in a career-high 51 minutes of play. With the win, Brooklyn improve to 15-21 on the season and 10-9 at home where they've won their last four.

Meanwhile, the Raptors have won eight of their last 11 and were able to bounce back from consecutive losses with a clinical 112-91 win over the lowly Pistons on Wednesday. Kyle Lowry continued his strong form with 21 points and nine assists but it was a real team effort as the starting five all finished in double digits in scoring. The Raptors were particularly impressive in the second half, outscoring the Pistons by 62-37 and outrebounding their big frontcourt by 55-47 for the game. Toronto is now 17-17 on the season and 7-8 at home.
The Nets have beaten the Raptors in four of the last five meetings, including a 102-100 win in Toronto back on Nov. 26 so the edge definitely goes to the Nets in this one. The Raptors have certainly been playing some their best basketball lately and I'm quite confident that they'll get the win here, but it's just too hard to give up this many points to the red-hot Nets in this one.
