The Orlando Magic and the Dallas Mavericks collide at the American Airlines Center on Saturday night.

The Orlando Magic have been one of the coldest teams in the league as they were riding a 10-game losing streak before snapping out of it with a 116-109 road win over the Hornets last night. Mauritz Wagner led the team with 26 points on 11 of 17 shooting off the bench, Franz Wagner added 19 points with seven assists while Gary Harris chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Magic shot 51 percent from the field and 15 of 45 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Hornets in a close contest, until the fourth quarter where they used a 24-8 run to pull away and escape with the much-needed win.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in red-hot form as they’ve won seven of their past eight games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the streaking Grizzlies in a 112-85 road win last night. Luka Doncic led the team with a triple-double of 27 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 16 points off the bench while Jalen Brunson and Marquese Chriss each scored 15 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 51 percent from the field and eight of 32 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and trailed by five points at halftime, before coming alive in the second half where they restricted the Grizzlies to just 30 points to make it look easy in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games against a team with a winning home record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. The Mavericks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games, 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 23-9 in the last 32 meetings overall, the Magic are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Dallas and the Magic are 6-13 ATS in the last 19 meetings overall.

The Magic have been hit hard by injuries and they will again be without Jonathan Isaac and Wendell Carter Jr, while the Mavericks will again be without Kristaps Porzingis and Willie-Cauley Stein which leaves them thin in the frontcourt. The Magic really surprised the Hornets with a surprisingly good effort last night, so while I’m taking the Mavericks to get the win, I think the Magic do just enough to get the backdoor cover in this spot.
