The Thunder head down to Texas on Thursday night to face off against the Rockets and their potent offense.
The Houston Rockets are currently 26-14 on the year, with an impressive home record of 15-5 this season. The Rockets are currently in second place in the Southwest division, trailing the San Antonio Spurs by 5.5 games at this point. Harden has had a very strong year for the Rockets so far, averaging 24.6 points per game, while also leading the team in assists and steals per game. Houston is playing well lately, winning three in a row, and four out of their last five heading into this meeting with OKC. Last time out, Houston defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 103-100 on Wednesday night in New Orleans.

The Oklahoma City Thunder head to Houston on Thursday night to face the always tough Rockets and their potent offense. The Thunder have a solid offense as well, ranking sixth in the league at this point, putting up an average of 104.7 per game. Durant is leading the way for the Thunder this season, with a very impressive average of 29.8 per game. The Thunder do have the defense to contain the Rockets attack, as OKC is holding opponents to an average of 97.85 points per game this season, ranking the Thunder seventh in the league in scoring defense. OKC has struggled a bit lately, dropping their last outing to the Grizzlies on Tuesday, and losing three out of their last four.
The Thunder re 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games against the Southwest division, and the Thunder are 5-1 against the spread on the road against teams with a winning record. The Thunder are however, just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games overall.
The Rockets are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games when playing on no rest and the Rockets are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games following an ATS loss.
I like OKC to get the cover here, but the best value looks to be on the total. The odds makers set a high number here, but with these two teams on the court, it likely won’t be high enough. The Rockets are playing at home here with zero rest, and the Thunder, who need a win badly, will likely try and take advantage of some tired legs for the Rockets. Houston will have to score plenty to keep up with OKC, which should drive this one over the projected number.
