An old rivalry is renewed tonight when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Boston Celtics on NBA Friday.
The Lakers have lost 12 of their last 13 and will be looking to avoid an eighth straight road loss after falling to the Suns by 121-114 on Wednesday. Pau Gasol led the way with 24 points, Wesley Johnson added 22 points and Chris Kaman added 18 but there was just no stopping the Suns' Gerald Green who had a season-high 28 points on 12 of 18 shooting. There was also no stopping Nick Young after he got pushed to the ground on a flagrant foul by Alex Len which led to a massive altercation and a double ejection.

Meanwhile, the Celtics were able to snap a nine-game skid by beating the streaking Raptors by 88-83 on Wednesday. Avery Bradley scored 20 points while Jeff Green added 13, but this night belonged to Jared Sullinger who led the way with 25 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, including a key offensive board that secured victory. The Celtics look to be making some roster changes as well, shipping off Jordan Crawford for Joel Anthony, two draft picks and cash considerations which could mean that they intend to keep Rajon Rondo but those are just rumours for the time being.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a losing home record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, while the Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the Under is 5-1-1 in the last seven in Boston.
The Lakers have been seriously struggling lately and things only went from bad to worse after the big fight against the Suns so this feels like a good a time as any to take the Celtics to win and cover at home.
