The surging Denver Nuggets play host the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in prime time NBA action.
Head to head, the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Nuggets are 18-7 ATS in their last 25 vs. NBA Central and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, but just 8-18 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a losing record. The Cavaliers on the other hand are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-5 ATS in their last road games.

You probably didn’t realise, but the Denver Nuggets are one of the hottest teams in the league right now having won six of eight since 2013 ended. They did have that very strange 118-103 loss in Utah on Monday night, but apart from that, they have been lights out as they are back to their high scoring ways. Denver has scored over 100 points in each of their last eight contests and have topped 120 points in four of those. They are also coming off what is probably their best win of the season on Wednesday night as they went in Oakland and defeated the Warriors 123-116, thanks to four players finishing with 20 points or greater.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a 108-96 loss in Portland on Wednesday night, but they have actually won three of their last five and two straight on the road before falling to the Trail Blazers. Even though they ended up losing by double-digits on Wednesday, they actually played a lot better than the final score-line would suggest as they led at a stage in the fourth quarter before the Trail Blazers ran away with things late. Their offense has also improved of late as they have scored over 110 points in three of their last five meetings, which were all wins.
I was pretty impressed with the way the Cavs played in Portland, but they still ended up losing by double-digits and missing the cover. While they are getting better, all of their wins lately have come against teams with below .500 records and Denver isn’t one of those teams. Four of the Nuggets last five wins have all come by double-digits, which included a 13-point win over Kevin Durant the Oklahoma City Thunder. Denver is simply a better team, they are at home and they are on fire right now. This is a no-brainer pick if you ask me...
