NBA Player Updates 1/19: George, Howard, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
January 19, 2014
The busy NBA schedule will be continuing today, with five more matchups coming on the schedule. While we’re getting settled in and waiting for tip-offs, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players out there and see who’s making headlines. Here’s the latest.
Paul George, SF, Indiana Pacers: George kept his strong run going last night against the Clippers. He posted 36 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals in the Pacers’ 106-92 victory. That gives him at least 25 points in each of the last three games. George also had just one turnover.
That’s four wins in a row for the Pacers, who sit at 32-7 so far. Up next is a five-game road trip. That one kicks off tomorrow at Golden State.

Joakim Noah, C, Chicago Bulls: Noah has been putting up solid rebound numbers lately, but has only been scoring in double-digits every other game. That trend continued last night against Philadelphia with a 21-point, 16-rebound effort in the 103-78 victory. Noah also had four blocks, his highest total since he posted five against Atlanta on Jan. 4.
The Bulls have won two of their last three and are 19-20 on the season. They host the Lakers tomorrow night.
Dwight Howard, C, Houston Rockets: Howard managed another solid effort last night in a win against Milwaukee. He notched 20 points, 14 rebounds and a pair of assists in the Rockets’ 114-104 win, which makes three double-doubles in his last four games. Howard also took good care of the ball, with no turnovers.
Houston has won four of their last five to put them at 27-15 so far. They’ll host Portland tomorrow for the middle matchup in their five-game home-stand.
LaMarcus Aldridge, PF, Portland Trail Blazers: Speaking of Portland, they’ve got some guy named LaMarcus Aldridge on their team, and we hear he’s pretty good. He managed 30 points and 12 rebounds in the team’s 127-111 victory over Dallas last night, which makes four straight double-doubles for him.
That’s five straight wins for Portland. They’re 31-9 right now. They’re halfway through a four-game road trip, with stops in Houston tomorrow and OKC on Tuesday.
