The Miami Heat head to Atlanta on Monday to face off against the Hawks.
The Atlanta Hawks are currently sitting right above the .500 mark this season as the Hawks are 20-19 on the year, and in second place in the Southeast. Currently, the Hawks trail the Heat by 8.5 games in the division. The Hawks are a well rounded team, and are currently ranked first in the league in assists per game, with an average of 25.4. The Hawks have struggled a bit lately, dropping their last two in a row.

The Miami Heat are sitting at 29-11 this season, and have a comfortable lead over these Hawks in the division. Miami’s only glaring weakness right now is on the boards, where the Heat are averaging just 36.6 rebounds per game. The Heat have been accused of coasting at this point in the season, and while I don’t think that’s the case, I do think we will see an improved effort rebounding the ball come playoff time, but for now, this has to be factored in as a concern. The Heat notched another win, defeating the Bobcats in Charlotte on Saturday 104-96.
The Heat are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games following an ATS win, and Miami is just 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games following an outright win.
The Hawks are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games on Monday nights, and the Hawks are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against a team with a winning record on the year.
I have to take the over in this spot. The Heat are looking like they are back on track, but Miami will likely get beat by the Hawks on the boards as Atlanta has a clear advantage here. The Hawks can put up points as well, and getting more second chance shots should increase their scoring percentage on the night, pushing this one over the number.
