TV:

The Houston Rockets seek their fourth straight win on Friday night as they play host to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Head to head, the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Houston while the home team is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the favorite is 9-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Rockets are just 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS win and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win or more than 10 points. The Grizzlies on the other hand are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies - 1/24/14

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Who else likes the over in this one? Cause I do. The Houston Rockets have been on fire on the offensive end since their infamous second half meltdown against the Oklahoma City Thunder last Thursday, scoring 114 points or better in three straight games. In fact, the Rockets have poured in 126 and 119 points in their last two outings against Portland and Sacramento, respectively. Granted, neither the Trail Blazers or Kings are concerned about playing any defense whatsoever, but still.

The Memphis Grizzlies are another thing all together. They have actually been one of the worst offensive teams in the entire league this past week and a bit, if not the worst, failing to score over 92 points in each of there past four games. It’s actually quite bizarre because in their previous five games before their slide, they had score over 104 points in five straight contest and 108 or more in four of those. I’ll admit, I don’t watch a ton of Memphis games these days, does anyone but Grizzlies fans? So I can’t really comment on why they went from scoring 108 to 90 in the space of two weeks.

While Memphis has been putting up low scoring totals of late, they have shown us they can post a big total if need be and they are going to need to tonight if they want to keep up with this high octane Rocket outfit. I highly doubt the Grizz are going to come into Houston and dictate the pace and make this a half-court contest. Houston is going to continue to score and score often, so Memphis will have no choice but to keep up or get blown out...
