The Denver Nuggets play host to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night from the Mile High City.
Head to head, the Pacers are 5-12 ATS in the last 17 meetings while the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Nuggets are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. loss. The Pacers on the other hand are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games, 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest, but they are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
I'm having a hard time coming up with a winner in this one for a number of reasons. While Denver has dropped three straight and four of five overall, it wasn't too long ago that they were one of the hottest teams in the league and they have won four of five at home by an average of 18 points per game. The Nuggs have also covered the spread in nine of their last 12 at the Pepsi Center against teams with a winning percent of .600 or greater. There's no doubting that the Indiana Pacers are the superior team here, but they have covered the number in just five of their last six away from home and just one of their last seven playing on zero days rest. The Pacers have actually lost two of their last three when playing in the second of a back-to-back, falling recently in Atlanta and Toronto.
For whatever reason, the Pacers have just exploded on the offensive end of late, scoring 100 or greater in their last six outings. It's no surprise that the over is 5-1 in their last six overall. Indiana has actually scored 116 or more in three of those contests, granted one of those games went extra time. As far as Denver is concerned, their totals in 2014 have been crazy high scoring as nine of their last 10 matches have finished on 214 points or greater. The over is also 5-1 in Nuggets last six home games.
Like I said, the Pacers have been one of the highest scoring teams in the league these past two weeks and it's pretty rare when a Denver game doesn't finish with 215 points or more. I'll take the over here thanks..
