The Charlotte Bobcats head to Denver on Wednesday to face off against the tough Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets are sitting just in the black this season with a record of 22-21 on the year. The Nuggets have a top ten offense, putting up a solid 104 points per game, but the defense for the Nuggets is struggling, allowing more than 103 points per outing. The Nuggets have won back to back games heading into Wednesday’s meeting with the Bobcats, but the Nuggets are just 2-3 in their last five overall. Last time out, the Nuggets defeated the Sacramento Kings 125-117 in Sacramento on Sunday night.

The Charlotte Bobcats are sitting at 19-27 this season. This team still has a little ways to go, but there is some definite improvement here from the Bobcats this season as compared to the past few. Charlotte has an excellent defense, holding opponents to 97.2 points per game, ranking the Bobcats sixth in scoring defense. This team just struggled to score consistently. The Bobcats are scoring just 93.9 points per game on the year, putting the Bobcats 28th in the league. Charlotte has dropped two straight heading into Wednesday night, with their latest loss coming against the Bulls in Chicago on Saturday.
The Bobcats are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games on the road, and Charlotte is 0-4 against the spread in their last four games against a team with a winning home record. The Bobcats are also 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a winning record.
The Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, and the Nuggets are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games overall. The Nuggets are also 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games following a straight up win.
I'm taking the Nuggets here. Denver has owned the Charlotte Bobcats lately, and I don't see that changing much here on Wednesday. I know Lawson may miss tonight for the Nuggets, but the Bobcats are banged up as well. Charlotte and their defense may keep this close for awhile, but look for the home court advantage for the Nuggets take effect late, allowing Denver pull away and cruise.
