The Oklahoma City Thunder head down to South Beach on Wednesday to face off against LeBron James and the Heat.
In what could very easily be a Finals preview, the Heat will be hosting the Thunder on Wednesday night. The Miami Heat maybe haven’t been as dominant at times this season as some years past, but there is little question that the East will come down to the Heat and Pacers, and I give Miami the edge there. The Heat are ranked in the top ten in both scoring offense and defense. The only real question mark with this team is their play on the boards, but come late season and playoff time, I expect that to improve. The Heat have played well lately, winning three straight, with their latest win coming on Sunday against the Spurs.
USA TODAY Sports
The Oklahoma City Thunder head to Miami on Wednesday, owning the first place spot in the Northwest division. The Thunder are 36-10 this season, and are playing well on the road, going 16-7 away from home this season. The Thunder, like the Heat are in the top ten in both scoring offense and defense, and the Thunder have Durant, who is scoring an amazing 31.3 points per game. Westbrook is tearing it up this season as well, leading the team in assists and steals per game. OKC has won eight straight heading into Miami on Wednesday, with their last win coming on Monday against the Hawks in Oklahoma City.
The Thunder are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, and OKC is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall. The Thunder are also 8-2 against the spread in their last ten games following an ATS loss.
The Heat are just 3-9 against the spread in their last 12 games following an outright win, and the Heat are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games.
I have to roll with Miami here. The Thunder have been playiung outstanding ball lately, but this is a tough spot. The Miami Heat have been accused of "coasting" this season and beating up on OKC here will be a perfect show of strength. Behind Durant the Thunder will keep it close, but Miami should pull away late, winning this one fairly easily.
