The Utah Jazz welcome Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors to town on Friday night from Salt Lake City.

Head to head, the Warriors are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Utah while the road team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Jazz are 4-0 ATS in their last four games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games. The Warriors on the other hand are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

You may not realise this, but the Utah Jazz have been a pretty explosive offensive team so far in 2014. With Hayward now back from injury and Trey Burke getting better with each passing game, the Jazz have been putting up some pretty big totals lately, especially at home. If you take that 72 point outing in Minnesota away, you will find that Utah has averaged a pinch under 105 points per game so far in the New Year. When looking at their last six home games, the average points scored in those six has been 211 and not one of those contests finished under 205 total points. It’s no surprise that the over is 5-0-1 in their last 6 at home and 7-2-1 in their last 10 overall.

As far as the Golden State Warriors are concerned, they are still one of the premier offensive teams in the NBA, even if their numbers are slightly down from pervious seasons. The Warriors poured in 111 in their home win over the Los Angeles Clippers last night, but that could been a lot more if the game had been close. While they only scored 85 in their previous game against Washington, they have still topped 110 points in four of their last eight overall.

The last time these two teams met in Utah back in the middle of November, the game finished on just 185 points. However, Trey Burke wasn’t playing yet and that’s when the Jazz were at their absolute worst. Fast forward two months and Utah is all of a sudden one of the better offensive teams going around, and that’s a fact. Given that each of the Jazz’s last six home games have all finished on 205 points or more, the over has to be the play here, and a pretty strong one at that..
