The Philadelphia 76ers head to Detroit on Sunday to square off against the Pistons.
The Detroit Pistons are struggling this season, going just 18-27 on the year, and currently residing in third place in the Central division. The Pistons are just five games back of the Bulls right now, so Chicago is very much in reach, but I don’t see the Pistons catching the Pacers, who currently have a 17 game advantage over them. Detroit has struggled somewhat as of late, going just 1-4 overall in their last five games. The last win for the Pistons came on Tuesday night, where Detroit defeated the Orlando Magic 103-87 in Detroit.

The 76ers are really having a tough time of it this season as the Sixers are just 15-32 on the year, and are bringing up the rear in their division. The Sixers have one of the worst rated defenses in the league this season, giving up a horrible 109.5 points per game. The offense is a bit better for the Sixers, but still Philly is putting up just 101.2 on average. The Sixers, like the Pistons are in a slump lately, having dropped two out of their last three outings, with their latest loss coming on Friday night against the Hawks in Atlanta.
The Sixers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games when they are playing against a team with a losing overall record, and the Sixers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games against a team with a losing record.
The Pistons are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and Detroit is 1-8 against the spread in their last nine games at home against a losing team.
I have to take the Pistons here at home. The Sixers are far from impressive, and even though near double digits is a lot to lay with this Detroit team; I just can’t see backing Philly in Detroit off of no rest.
