The Indiana Pacers look to bounce back against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.
Head to head, the Nets are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Indiana while the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the favorite is 20-7 ATS in the last 27 meetings. The Pacers are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 24-8 ATS in their last 32 home games, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Nets on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall, but just 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
The Brooklyn Nets suffered one of their worst losses of the season last night at home against Kevin Durant the Oklahoma City Thunder and I'm affraid the same might happen tonight against an Indiana Pacers squad coming off a rare loss at home. While I doubt that the Nets lose by 27 or more on back-to-back nights, they are unlucky to be the team that has to face the Pacers coming off a loss at home, which was just their second all season long at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Their only other loss was against the visiting Detroit Pistons and while they did lose in Miami in their next outing, their next home game resulted in a win over the Houston Rockets by a lazy 33 points.
Coming into Friday night's contest, the Nets had actually been the form team of the league, having won 10 of 12 overall. Yet, they were completly outmatched against the Thunder as they trailed by 28 points at the major break and the rest was history. As far as the Pacers were concerned, they were coming off a five-game Western Conference road trip, so that could of had something to do with their poor showing against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. They also lost to Phoenix during their recent road trip 124-100, which was easily the most points they have given up this season.
While there is no doubt that the Nets have improved greatly these past couple of weeks, they are in a pretty bad spot here for the aformentioned reasons. Indiana has been the most dominant home team all season long as the numbers back that up as they have covered the spread in 16 of a possible 23 games. I think the Pacers bounce back with a double-digit victory tonight..
