The Boston Celtics welcome the Sacramento Kings to town on Friday night.
Head to head, the Kings are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings while the home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Celtics are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games, 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. The Kings on the other hand are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference, 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
Iv'e been pretty harsh on the Sacramento Kings over the years, but I'm slowly starting to come around on this team. While they are still going to lose more games than they win, the blowouts are occurring less and less and for the first time in forever, I can actually feel semi-confident about backing them in certain games, which wasn't really the case in the past. With Cousins, Gay and Thomas back in the line-up after suffering various injuries, the Kings have won two straight over Chicago and Toronto, with their victory over the Bulls coming by a whopping 29 points.
The Boston Celtics also find themselves riding a winning streak entering tonight's game, having defeated Orlando and most recently Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The Celtics had their second-highest scoring output of the season against the 76ers, who just happen to be the leagues-worst defensive team, and it's not even close. Jeff Green led the way with 36 points on 11-18 shooting while Rajon Rondo missed out on a triple-double with eight points, nine rebounds and 11 assists.
Even though both teams come into tonight's contest with virtually the same record, it's pretty clear that the Kings have more talent than the Celtics and even though Boston won their last home game against Orlando, they did lose six of their previous seven at TD Garden. Sacramento has been good at covering the spread on the road recently and I expect them to do the same tonight. Don't go crazy, because were still talking about the Kings remember...
