The Houston Rockets travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Saturday from the Bradley Center.
Head to head, the Rockets are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings and 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Milwaukee while the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. The Bucks are 16-35 ATS in their last 51 home games, 14-37 ATS in their last 51 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 vs. Western Conference. The Rockets on the other hand are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 2 days rest and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall, but just 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
Did you know the Milwaukee Bucks have actually won three straight games against the spread? A feat they have only accomplished one other time this season just before Christmas. So what does that mean for tonight's contest against the Houston Rockets? Well, that's hard to tell because even though they have covered the spread in three straight, two of those were losses by nine and 10 points, respectively. On the other hand, they played in Houston not long ago and managed to cover the spread by 3.5 points as they fell 114-104.
As far as Houston is concerned, they enter tonight's rematch riding a four-game winning streak and have won seven of nine overall, covering the spread in six of those contests. Six of those victories have come at home as they have enjoyed a nice stretch of games at the Toyota Center. Having said that, the Rockets have also won four of five on the road following their 117-115 win in Dallas last week. Following a stretch of matches where Houston was held to under 100 points, they have now scored in triple figures in three straight contests and two of those games surpassed 115 points.
I have a feeling this game could wind up being like their first contest where Houston dominated throughout and then Milwaukee made a couple of late buckets to get the cover. So instead of just fading the Bucks because they are the Bucks, I'm going with a total instead.
Milwaukee has been in a nice groove on the offensive end in recent games, topping 100 points in four of their last five and the over has gone 6-3 in their last nine overall. Given this, plus the fact that the Rockets could go off for 120 themselves tonight, I like the over in this one. It also helps that the first meeting ended up on 218 total points...
