The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Utah Jazz in a late Tuesday night NBA matchup between two of the worst teams in the league. The Jazz have lost four of their last five and the Lakers have lost eight of their last 10 games.
The Lakers have shown a little bit of life with the return of Steve Nash. They’ve won two of their last three games and competed with the Chicago Bulls until the final minutes. Nash left that game Sunday with a leg injury, but he expects to practice and play Tuesday. Even with Nash back on the floor, the Lakers are banged up team that is understandably struggling at both ends of the floor. In their last five games they average 100.8 points on 44.percent shooting, while the defense allows 105.8 points on 45.4 percent shooting. They are 27-23-1 against the spread and 8-14 ATS at home.

The Jazz are coming off of a shocking win over the Miami Heat on Saturday. In that game they held LeBron James to just 13 points, while the offense shot 48.6 percent from the field and knocked down 10 threes. Still, the Jazz are one of the worst offensive teams in the league that has topped 100 points just twice in their last nine games. Defensively, they allow 100.7 points per game on 46.3 percent shooting. They are 22-25-3 against the spread and 6-19 ATS on the road.
Utah has actually won five of the last seven meetings SU against the Lakers, but is just 7-16 ATS in its last 23 games in Los Angeles. The Lakers showed fight in their last game against Chicago and has more than enough offensive firepower to make it tough for the Jazz to keep up. After all, they did win the most recent meeting back in January thanks to shooting above 50 percent.
Los Angeles still has a little fight left and should do enough offensively to cover the tiny number on its home court.
