The Line: Portland Trail Blazers -1.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers will play for their fourth and final time during the regular season. The Trail Blazers lead the series 2-1, although the Thunder did win the most recent meeting near the end of January.
After that brutal loss to the Orlando Magic, the Thunder got back on track with a 112-100 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. Kevin Durant was just one assist shy of a triple-double, while the offense shot 54.8 percent from the field and knocked down 12 threes. And while the offense gets most of the credit, the defense has actually held teams to just 94.6 points on 44.9 percent shooting in their last five games. The Thunder are 31-22 against the spread and 16-11 ATS on the road.

The Trail Blazers have won three of their last five games and are coming off a Saturday victory over the Minnesota Timber Wolves. Although Minnesota’s offense still scored 110 points, Portland’s defense made it tough by holding them to 41.2 percent shooting and 29.4 percent from beyond the arc. Defense is the area that has improved recently, as the Trail Blazers are allowing just 43.3 percent shooting and 30.7 percent shooting from downtown. Portland is 28-23 ATS and 12-12 ATS at home.
This could be a possible playoff matchup the way both teams have been playing, and you can’t go wrong either way with the small line. However, you’re not going to get the Thunder plus money very often, so you must take advantage of it when it comes. Oklahoma City is the much more balanced team and is actually 6-1 ATS in its last seven games against the Western Conference.
Portland is 19-5 SU on its home floor, but I refuse to get burned by OKC any longer. I’ll gladly take the better team and the points.
